There’s something special about Walt Disney World after the sun goes down. The Florida heat starts to fade, the parks begin to glow, and some attractions become even more magical than they are during the day.

If you’re planning a full park day, don’t make the mistake of heading back to your resort too early. Some of Disney World’s best rides are worth saving until nighttime.

Here are 10 attractions that are even better after dark.

1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom)

Big Thunder Mountain is fun anytime, but it feels completely different after sunset.

Racing through the mountain in the dark with the lights of Frontierland surrounding you makes the ride feel faster and more exciting. If you time it just right, you may even catch fireworks lighting up the sky during your ride.

Why it’s better at night: Cooler temperatures, beautiful lighting, and incredible views.

2. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom)

Fantasyland becomes one of the prettiest areas in Magic Kingdom after dark.

This is one attraction that truly lives up to the hype.

5. Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)

Animal Kingdom has a completely different feel in the evening.

The mountain disappears into the darkness, making every backward drop and twist feel even more thrilling.

If you’re staying until park close, this should definitely be on your list.

After dark, you’ll glide high above Tomorrowland while enjoying incredible views of Space Mountain, TRON, Astro Orbiter, and the glowing lights throughout the land.

It’s relaxing, rarely has a long wait, and gives you one of the best nighttime views in Magic Kingdom.

Why it’s better at night: You get amazing views of Tomorrowland illuminated after sunset.

10. Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)

While Space Mountain is always indoors, the experience of walking through Tomorrowland at night makes the attraction even more memorable.

The glowing lights, futuristic music, and cooler evening air create the perfect atmosphere before blasting off into space.

Try riding during the final hour before park closing when waits often become shorter.

Why it’s better at night: Tomorrowland feels its most immersive after sunset.

Rapunzel is one of my favorite characters to Disneybound because her color palette is so easy to wear in real life. Lavender, blush pink, soft florals, gold accessories, and even a little touch of green can create a Rapunzel-inspired outfit without feeling like you’re wearing a costume.
