Taking baby on their first trip is filled with a lot of emotions. Did we pack everything? Did we overpack? Did I pack enough clothes for a day trip? So many questions and overthinking. For someone so tiny, they sure have a lot of stuff. Luckily, I have a few strategies to help anyone along this exciting milestone in family life.
Pack the Basics
The best thing about Disney is the baby care center. If you happened to forget something or didn’t pack enough they will have it. If you are an annual passholder you can use your discount there too. Below is our basic list for our day trip. I am a list person and it helps me stay organized.
- Stroller
- Diaper bag
- Diapers ( a diaper per hour is the rule of thumb)
- Diaper rash cream
- A trash bag or wet bag for those dirty diapers
- Hand sanitizers
- Baby wipes
- Sunscreen
- Baby carrier (Mila loves breaks out of her stroller)
- Food for baby ( breastmilk, formula, bottles, however you feed them make sure to have extra for your days worth)
- Breastpump for car trip
- Clothes (You know your baby best. We brought 4 outfits)
- Toys
- Water
- Diaper changing pad
- Blankets
Day in the Park
It was a perfect sunny day and the best Florida weather you could ask for in November. Since Mila was still so little and Covid was still around we didn’t do any rides. We checked out the animals around the park and checked out the holiday snacks. If you are looking for a chill Disney day, and like animals; this is the place to be for your little one.

Mila spent the majority of the time in her stroller, but when she wanted a break and just to see what is going on, the baby carrier came in handy. It was her first time in this carrier and she loved it. It is a great tool to have if you like being hands free while carrying your baby.

Eating with baby
Again that baby carrier came in handy. With all the excitement around Mila, wanted to see what was going on. If you are looking for an amazing meal with at home cook feeling, head to Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming. (Reservations recommended) I have lost count on how many times we have frequented this Disney Spring restaurant, but it is our go-to for a delicious sit-down meal. Again, if you have that annual pass holder card you can utilize that discount. This restaurant was so accommodating with a stroller and all the wait staff enjoyed seeing Mila.

Some takeaways from the trip
We took our time getting there and at the park. We didn’t rush which meant we didn’t stress. This trip wasn’t about getting the perfect Disney experience, it was about enjoying our time together. We stopped a lot and took in every moment. Mila is a great traveler and being used to car trips really helped us. We did our best staying on her schedule for feedings and naps. Overall, strolling through animal kingdom was a memory I know we will never forget. This was the perfect park to take Mila on her first of many Disney trips.
