There’s something special about a family beach trip. Between the sunshine, salty air, and watching your child play in the sand, Myrtle Beach is one of those destinations that creates lasting memories.

As a mom, I’ve learned that a successful beach day starts long before you step onto the sand. Packing the right items can make the difference between a relaxing day and a stressful one.

After several beach trips with my family, these are the beach essentials I packed for Myrtle Beach and actually used.

Baby’s first trip to the beach 💕

1. Beach Wagon

A beach wagon made hauling towels, toys, snacks, and drinks much easier. If you’re traveling with children, this is one item I wouldn’t skip.

2. Portable Fan

The South Carolina summer heat is no joke. A portable rechargeable fan helped keep everyone comfortable during the hottest part of the day.

3. Waterproof Phone Pouch

Between ocean waves, wet swimsuits, and sandy hands, a waterproof phone pouch gave me peace of mind while still allowing me to take photos.

4. Beach Toys

Simple toys like buckets and shovels provided hours of entertainment. Sometimes the simplest activities create the best memories.

Simple beach toys seriously kept the little ones entertained.

5. Cooler for Snacks and Drinks

Having cold drinks and fresh fruit available made beach days much more enjoyable.

6. Sunscreen

Frequent reapplication is a must, especially for little ones spending hours outdoors.

7. Beach Towels

Pack more than you think you’ll need. Between swimming, spills, and sandy hands, extra towels always come in handy.

8. Reusable Water Bottles

Staying hydrated is essential during long beach days.

9. Beach Tote

A large tote helped keep sunscreen, phones, keys, and snacks organized.

10. Portable Charger

Between photos, videos, maps, and entertainment, phones drain quickly during vacation.

Final Thoughts

One of my favorite moments from this trip was simply sitting on the beach watching my daughter enjoy the sand and ocean. Those simple family moments are what vacations are really about.

If you’re planning a Myrtle Beach vacation, I hope this packing list helps make your trip a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.
